On my '90 Ford Bronco 2 the ac compressor will kick on every minute or so, like when defrost is on. It will not turn on all the way when the AC is on nor will it ever turn off. Would this problem be in the dash, on the compressor, or is their some type of sensor. Right now I just have it unplugged so it would stop making noise and kicking in and out. Should I look into my dash or replace the compressor? or can I just buy the belt for a '90 Bronco without ac and run it and just remove the ac all together without running into problems?

It runs like that ALL the time, even when defrost is off. Just started doing it a while back. It also doesn't turn all the way on. It'll make cold air it just takes a long time.

There is a A/C clutch cycling switch on the A/C dryer that tells the compressor to kick on/off based on the pressure in the system. It has 2 wires to it which lead to the compressor clutch. In the Dash when you turn the A/C on, (my 88 has a compressor button with blue light) this powers the clutch. My system did a similar on/off thing and it turned out to be a bad cycling switch. That said, I would take it to an A/C specialist to make sure the high pressure side isnt running too high pressure. The switch was around $20. Once they replaced my switch the unit cycled normally. (freon was added as well, as my switch was leaking)

Autozone part

Hope this helps
