This is my first posting on this forum. I just bought a friends 84 bronco II since its been sitting at my house for the last 4 months anyway, figured i would get in on here and ask some questions. As it is right now my bronco II needs the flywheel tooth ring flipped as it is totaly stripped. I rebuilt the starter last week and its pulling 75A draw under load so thats good. I also need to put in a new rear driveshaft and it should be good as new. I'm not sure if im going to simply repair this bronco then sell it, or if im going to keep it and make it into a trail rig, which is what brings me to this post.

A local junkyard has a lift or what id guess around 4" for 65$ so im probably going to go pick it up and throw it on there just to see how i feel about it. I was just wondering what some of the most breakable and annoying parts to these vehicles are. It has the wonderfully useless 2.8L cologne, and a 5spd with manual hubs and i believe the dana 28 front. What gear ratios were commonly offered in these vehicles, how about cheap tricks, things to mod before they break, et et.

i believe they were something like 3.08......but don't quote me....on a 4 inch lift your probably only going to beable to run 31 inch tires, i would highly sugest keeping the sway bar, only for drivability, that thing will handle like a lifted jeep, and we all know what happens to lifted jeeps.......roll over is to jeep, as white is to white rice ****
