Same problem with mine, I paid to have a flowmaster put on and was excited to hear it and it sucks. My little v6 dakota sounded 5x as loud as my bronco does. Apparently atleast my bronco has 2 cats on it n by the time it runs through them both before the muffler it quiets it down so much.

Basically only option I know of is take the muffler off or the cats, both of which wouldn't be tooooo legal atleast where i'm from in Virginia

Just do what I did. Ditch the cats and the mufflers and run true dual out. That's if you want it to be load. b-(

Firstly,...none of the above have anything to do with "noise" (especially the first two)

Secondly, ....the 3rd. item is designed to reduce noise...(i.e. "MUFFLER")

If you want "noise/sound" get a big claw hammer & punch some holes in it.

Well, anyway, I'm convinced that's what some folks around here do....

I ran Flowmaster 'American Thunder' Mufflers on my 5.0 'stang. it was plenty loud. It really depends on what flowmaster you're running. They make from very loud to very quiet mufflers. On my 'stang I ran an offroad x-pipe, and kept the factory h-pipe with the cats in the garage for the emission inspection. i pland to do something similar with my '93 bronco.
