Hi Guys

I need your thoughts. I would like to run 33s on my 67 Bronco. I would like to keep the tires inside of the wheel wells. What kind of backspacing? reverse offset? don't know whitch one to call it. I belive I would need custom wheels. It seams like there is enough room for a 9.50X33 tire. I will not be wheeling with it. It still has the 170cid six with 3 on the tree, and 4.10 gears. Thanks for your thoughts.

I'm thinking that "increasing" the "back-spacing" (which moves the tire inboard) will cause the tire to rub on the radius arm in tight turns.

(I think mine barely touches now with 32's.)

I'd be interested to know so keep us posted if you do any tests.

OOPS...!

Just noticed...9.50x 33 that should work...may need 7" (width) wheels.

The razor blade tires should work. I am running 33x12.5 on 15x10 rims and they do rub the radius arms in tight turns. I would find out what the manufacturer recommended rim is for the tires you want and what is the smallest rim size you can go with. If memory serves me, the original tires are similar in width as a 9.5 width tire. You might be able to get a very slight backspace difference and still be able to clear the rear fenders.

I don't believe you will be able to get 12.5s completely inside the well and still have a very functional truck. With my 33's on the i get a slight amount of rubbing in hard turns, but if you bring them in it will get to be a problem. Here is an example of manufacturer spec on 33x12.5s http://www.tirerack.com/tires/Spec.jsp?mak...re1=yes&place=0

As far as the range of rim width goes alll manufacturers have the same spec. One plus about sticking out of the wheel wells is that it gives you a little side swipe protection :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" /> . You will rub the tires before you rub the metal  .

Good luck,

:)>-

I have the same problem trying running with 33s. A couple of friends had recommended to me, to try offset wheels. This weekend I will rework my wheels and try set a couple with 2

Hi I have finely got my 33s on the Bronco. I used rims from a early 80s F150. They are the 15X7 rallies. BF Goodritch says their 33X9.50 tires need rims from 6.5 to 8.5 wide. I rearced the rear springs and added another leaf. I put new HD coils in the front. The driver's side fender was replaced and that was the only one needing to be trimed, 1/8 th of an inch. The rears are close with just me in it there is no rubbing, but when the wife and kid ride they rub on bumps. I'm looking for some 1" wedges. The front tires hit the trailing arms before the steering hits the locks. I'll put some tin around the arms so the tire slides and dosnot dig in. If I can get my camera to work with this you will have a picture to see.
