I have an old semi rusted full top, but the whole top it too heavy for the suspension I have set up, I am cutting a whole top into a extended cab half cab, cut weld see how it works. Whatch ya think ? Little toyota side windows and such...

Why not...! Sounds good....

The old Ford Courier had such a top....kinda the pre-runner to the extended P/U cab.

As far as weight reduction....I would guess 30-40 lbs. Assuming its closed in..

Propane is good for all day use city/govmt. veh., like mail trucks., city serv. with a home base re-fill tank.

You trade off some power & range....depending on location of re-charge stations.

I lost 140 lbs on my scale but will put about 30 back on with plexy windows and weld material

My fiberglass half cab probably weighs 20# or less.

If you need less weight in rear, I'd go fiberglass. The down fall is evert tree you hit cracks the top. The up side of that is its easy to repair.
