well if it was added on there by a PO id just take it off and splice the wires back and be done with it, if its factory it must be there for a reason, so lookin the owners manual and it should say what fuse it needs if its factory. If it is a 15 amp fuse and it keeps blowin you probably have a short some where.

Sounds like someone may have added it . Trace the line to see what it powers. There may be a short that is causing the problem :glare: .

Good luck,

I am pretty sure that there is supposed to be a fusible link in that circuit. My guess is that the PO did a half baked repair and put an inline fuse there. That would be a no-no. I'm sure someone who is familiar with the actual circuit will give you a better response. Otherwise we'll have to do a search on fusible links.

Description: The traditional fusible link is a short section of wire that has a smaller diameter than the rest of the circuit. When current flow in the circuit exceeds that of the fusible link, the wire melts and interrupts the circuit. This type of fusible link is becoming quickly obsolete, as many carmakers have opted for newer technologies such as the cartridge style fuse element or **** fuse. When a fuse link

It appears that you should have a red cable going from the battery to the starter relay that is mounted on the fender/wheel well. from that terminal there are four wires probably all yellow. The first yellow splits into four fusible links

18 ga brown to yel to ignition switch

20 ga bkue to yellow to rear defogger

18 ga brown to blk-orange to fuse #14

20 ga blue to yellow to trailer lights relay

the second yellow wire splits

into three fuseable links all of them are 20 ga blue

they go to

1. yellow fuel pump relay

2. yellow EEC Power relay

3. Red Trailer elcetric brake control

the third yellow

1. yellow to engine compartment light and fuse #1

The forth wire (I guess it is yellow)

is a 14 ga green fusible link that goes to the alternator

I hope that helps.
