Hi,

I bought a 1972 bronco which came with a toggle switch for the backup lights. I'm in the process of changing out the wiring, but don't know where my backup switch is located (if it exists) and haven't found any documentation that can tell me where to find it... can someone help?

Automatic is located where the shift linkage meets the transmission. It is incorporated into the neutral safety switch. On a standard I remember it being at the end of the column in the engine compartment.

Thanks. I checked at the end of the linkage, but didn't see anything I could identify as a switch. The guys that i bought this bronco from did some questionable work/alterations. They may have removed it. But now I know where it should be, I'll check again, I could have looked right last it.

The only lights I can't get to work are my backup lights and my instrument cluster light. All have new bulbs but they don't light up. I traced over all of the wiring but can't find anything wrong. I didn't know about a switch, I'll have to take a look too.

Now I know I don't have a backup switch installed. Problem is, I don't want to purchase a new switch ($65.00 @ broncograveyard) without knowing how it should be installed. Can anyone send me a picture of an installed backup switch for a manual... or installation instructions? Otherwise, I might take the easy way out and go back to the toggle switch on the dashboard (I'm sure VA safety inspection will love that).

thanks for the help!!!
