what am I missing? I removed all the guts from the hub assembly except for the clutch mechanism and the thing wont come off. this is on the front drivers side by the way. stock hi pinion dana44. please help!

Did you take out the lock nuts that hold the wheels bearings in?If not you'll be pulling pretty hard to get that apart.

I cant get to the lock nut... the actual little clutch assembly wont come out. any tricks? I already have all the little circlips and c clips out. the chiltons manual doesnt really have much information on it.

Make sure you have the large snap ring out, this one is on the inside diameter of the hub, then take two of the allen/hex bolts thread them in and wiggle it loose, it should come out.

that was the problem! it was in there really tight looks like the hubs been hit by a hammer a few hundred times... cant believe i didnt think to put the bolts back. in
