trim codes

anyone know how to decode trim codes? i am trying to figure out how to determine what gear ratio is on a mid 80's b II

did you check for a little tag attached to a bolt on the differential?

DOOR TAG....pretty simple concept. Trims packages are not the best way find out your gear ratio.

Here's the axle codes and their gear ratios.

42 open 3.45

44 open 3.73

47 open 4.10

D2 limited slip 3.45

D4 limited slip 3.73

D7 limited slip 4.10

Note any of the 4.10's are pretty rare to find.
