tranny trouble?

i have a 1986 bronco with a 5.0 302

the truck runs fine but when i get on it, it skips

what could be the problem?

well its like when i put the pedal to the floor and the tranny kicks up a gear it seems to skip and i am not sure what the problem is.

i was wondering if someone out there had the same problem
