Got a technical question here for the panel.

I have a '92 XLT, 4x4, 351W, E4OD, BW1356; For all intents and purposes, the boy runs flawlessly, my only head scratcher is that when I put it into reverse, it takes a full second to gear up and go, unlike drive that is an instantaneous shift and go. Is this normal or do I need to check something out? Lemme know. Thanx to all in advance.

You are not alone. I have a 1995 XLT with the 5.0l motor and the E04D transmission. I have the same problem you do when shifting into reverse, it takes a minute to lock into gear, and when it does it violently throws me backwards soemtiems resulting in chirping of the tires. If yours is not at this point yet you should be fine because I am also slipping when shifting into third.

Nope, I'm not to the point of ripping and chirping yet, just the hesitation part. Glad to know I'm not alone in this though. If anyone else has anything more to add, feel free to sound in.
