Back when I had a garage I would unbolt the top and back into the bay. I would squat in the back with the roof on my back lift it up a few inches and scoot it back away from the cab a few inches. Then move to the back with my head out the back window opening squat/lift it up to my waiting strap looped and hang the back with the strap going around the underside of the entire top at the back like a cradle. Then move to the front side squat/lift the front and feed the loop between the cab and top and hang it there. Get out adjust the straps to level the cradled top about four inches or more away and above the vehicle. Then simply drive out from under it. I could do it by myself in about twenty minutes.

If you get that to work I would LOVE to see it. Bought my Bronco at the end of the summer and took the top off for the first time a couple weeks ago. Got my wife out to help take it off...so, that's not going to happen again. Fortuantely had friends over later that night to get it back on. Can't back it into my garage - too tall. But I had thought about something like that too and would love to see it in action. Good luck!

In my old house I just sunk a pulley into a beam at the back of the garage & ran a line up thru it. I used an old broken tow strap for the rest, with it unbolted I'd lift it up enough to toss half of each strap out one side at a time. When I got out the cap would be unbolted but I now had 2 straps coming out each side and with a small step-ladder I could attach the end of each strap to the hook on the pulley-line. Just haul it up and secure the running end of the line to cleat and you're done. I'm sure some variation on that will work fine for you.

Haven't done it yet in this house because I still need to raise the whole freaking door assembly enough to get the damn truck in. Probably won't bother with it since my oldest got taller than me, it's easier to just call in the chain-gang & tell'em it's time to earn their allowance.
