so as I posted earlier I just bought an 89 full size with a body in pretty bad shape. Ive got all the rust cut off and patch panels for the quarters from Jeffs on the way. I'll post some pictures later. But, I do have an opnion question I was hoping to get some honest anwsers from you folks: I was thinking about running Diamond plate from the bottom to about 8 inches up on both sides (second bend in the body)(not the wheel well) basicall just from tire to tire and then the same for the tailgate, fancy and clean or over **** and gaudy?

If you think that would be fancy and clean, any suggestions on where to by the cheapest and how to cut it the cleanest?

Diamond-plate has two uses.....

1)To hide rust/damage

2)To create rust/damage
really? hmm didnt know it creates rust...

yea im thinking definitely gaudy...i mean its a good idea but i wouldnt do diamond plate cuz u can only have so much till it just looks ugly and cheap.

yeah I was thinking about doing to polished black on a black body...but being that it like $30 for a 1'x2' sheet of it I think Ill pass and spend the money on something more useful

well see my gallery of my old '91

diamond plate was added to cover the wonderful tailgate rot.

i think it looked kind of cool, but anything more than that would be overkill, almost like doing a chrome trim

Try some stainless steel rocker panels from jc whitney, I was going to get them for mine to cover the rust and crap.
