any one ever refinish the aluminum? trim of a bronco tailgate?

Here is mine i want to know if there is a way to make it look better and make the dark spots go away?

I clean mine with a brillo pad. Works great on chrome exhaust tips too to get the road tar off. And thanks to all the soap in it, it doesn't scratch.

I use a product called "NEVERDULL" it kinda looks like attic insulation with milk in it but it works good
