Stuck Tranny

bronco will move but cannot shift out of 1st.Gear shift will not move.tried to take top off tranny but top will not move but a couple of inches something seems to be hung up.son was shifting gears in the mud when it happened

Has the truck been siting for a long peroid of time, if so you may have gunk in your tranny, if not then i cannot help you, you may want to have a professional look at it

Have you cleaned the outside of the tranny and its' linkage to be sure nothing has lodged in place and is blocking or has bent the linkage?

If so and all seems fine there, then it sounds like an internal problem and I would have no idea unless a synch or a shaft has become galled, since you didn't mention a crunch /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

Sounds like you'll need to pull the tranny. You may have a worn synchro ring or shift fork.
