My Bronco has been in my family since '77. Its a '75 that was painted red, white and blue from the factory. I think it may be a Stroppe Baja Bronco but it's hard to find info on them. Do we have any Stroppe experts that could give me something to look for? It has the paint scheme, dual exhaust, and HAD the slot mags wheels that a Baja would have. I found a registry on Baja Bronco's website and my VIN is smack in the middle of a series that was sent to Stroppe, U15GLV65956. If anyone could help point me in the direction of determining whether my Broc is a Stroppe I'd appreciate it. Apparently only 650 were ever produced so if it is a Stroppe I'm going to need to be very careful how I restore it. Thanks!

Hey Bully,

Thanks for the info, I'll contact him ASAP. I also sent an email to Andrew at Baja Bronco, hopefully I'll here from him soon as well. I'm pretty excited about this because my family always thought it was a Bicentennial edition of some sort. Just adds more history to this great Broc. Thanks again!

In addition to those mentioned, Hemmings motor news is the mag for all automotive retorators. My Uncle restored old Chryslers, Packards, even a Marmon Herrington Mercury woody that was custom made for a famous Hollywood ornithologist and his wife, they had the roof reinforced as a platform for tripods ans the interior was also custom made by a famous Hollywood woody wagon customization shopthat becam I think ASC and or coachcraft or custom craft? I forgrt, search woody customizations or marmon herrington conversions, My uncles is in LA now, A surfer Ca teacher owns it and shows it, It had a 283 solid lifter chevy when I saw it, it now has the flathead V8, Your Bronco sounds as if it would have to be one! 2 yrs old with that paint scheme, unless somebody really went out of their way to clone one, but not then . My Grandfathers 4wd club actually had 1 and hewas a postman who got postalin that Bronco! He went up the craziest most treacherous climbs that you never want to have to back down! if you rolled it was 50 times or a sheer fall! and he would often try backwards uphills after going up the right way! I hear his wife has it now in Montana stored, I told my 90 yr old Grandmother about the rarity of his Bronco and she said she still has it as far as she knew! Dave Dalby of the Raiders, the 2nd center they ever had for 29 yrs, played 14 yrs, never missed 1 single game, 2 super, 1 pro blowls , parents were also in my Grandfathers club.I do recall the steering box was allegedly quicker ratios !

It's official I have a Baja Bronco here. Found some old pictures my Grandfather had from the late 70's and it had the Baja Bronco tire cover on it then. Glad to have such a rare piece of automotive history on my hands.
