If my bronc sits for more than a day or 2 it takes alot of cranking before starting, almost like its waiting for the fuel to reach the carb, it cranks strong and when it does finally start it runs perfect, it also starts immediatly after it has run for a few seconds.

could it be float in carb? or possibly the orignal gas cap not sealing properly causing loss of pressure after sitting?

just wondering where to start looking

Your needle and seat in the bowl might be sticking. I had the same problem with a truck before and thats what it was.

if it is manual pump sounds to me like it could be bad fuel pump allowing fuel to leak back down into the lines/tank...i've come across that problem many times.

yea im gonna say that that the needle and seat are sticking but if its a good carb then id definitely say its the fuel pump being weak and not being able to pull the fuel up fast enough to the carb. that would explain why it starts easily after it ruins for a few seconds. the pump has already had enough time to pull fuel up thru the system

this might sound strange but after replacing the fuel cap, which was dry rotted around the rubber seal, it seems to hold fuel pressure and the vehicle now starts right up even after sitting for a few days where before I would have to crank it several times

I also dont have the strong fuel smell in my garage after driving, I believe the fumes were escaping the cap
