squeaky brakes

ok so i wanted to come to you guys before i took her in to autozone. but my brakes are starting to sqeak, and its only when i am braking normal. but if i lightly tap them or stomp on them, they dont squeak. any ideas on what it is??

i got new brakes put on several months ago so i know its not time for new ones yet

The squeaking sound is normally the wear indicators telling you the pads are worn down to the point that they need to be replaced. I've had one or two sets of new pads scream at every stop. Chnaging pad brand and/or type of material solved that problem. But in your case, I would pull the wheels and check the thick ness of the pads. It's not very hard to remove the caliper pin and inspect the pads. IVe had them wear out in as little as 20K miles, or last as long a 80K. LIKE JSM84 SAID COULD BE IN THE PADS,WHEN YOU CHANGED PADS DID YOU HAVE YOUR ROTORS TURNED?YOU MAY JUST NEED TOO TAKE A 80GRIT SANDING DISK AND BREAK UP THE GLAZE ON YOUR ROTORS...MINE DID THAT ON THE REAR UNTIL I HAD THEM TURNED NOW STOPS ON A DIME AND GIVES 8 CENTS CHANGE...HOPE THIS WILL HELP... B)
