Speedometer not working. Used to work. Where is the speedo gear located? Do I need to grease it or something? I don't know? Thanks.

Look for a thick black cable entering the t-case, there is a retaining clip with about a 3/8 bolt in it. undo that and pull the cable out. The gear is at the end of the cable. Should be on the drivers side at the back on the top above where the rear driveshaft exits the t-case.

I just read your post again, no the gear doesnt need grease. Start at the instrument panel, remove the speedo. If the cable turns when you drive it is a problem with the speedo itself. A good possibility that the cable popped out of the speedometer a bit and just needs to be pushed back in.

awesome information. I found it and pulled it out. There were a few teeth missing. I needed to change it anyway b/c of bigger tires. Got one from JBG, installed it and it workes fine. Thanks for the help.
