My '87 B2 interior roof "creaks", especially above the driver seat and with the window down, and much worse when it gets colder (now). It seems to be related to the foam lining rubbing slightly against the metal of the cab. Drives me nuts. Also, the surface cloth lining the cab roof has deteriorated and is falling off.
Does anyone else have these problems? Has anyone removed and replaced the interior roof lining of their B2? How? With what? How has it worked?
I cannot find pre-cut B2 roof replacement pieces anywhere, so I was thinking of tearing out the existing cloth and foam liner, and replacing it with some sort of tan colored carpeting. Perhaps using silicone to attach it to the metal of the cab roof. Thoughts? Ideas?
Thanks.
