I have a 69 Bronco with a stock 302. Distributor is the old point style & is leaking oil.

I figure if I am removing the old distributor I should at the same time go electronic ignition.

I was looking online at MSD systems but there are a few different models offered.

From experience what would be recommended?

Thanks for any and all inputs.

Oil "in" the dizzy or just just around the entry port in the intake/block..?

Entry port would be an "O" ring leak. (or intake leak)

Oil inside the dizzy would be to much vac. ported to the vac. advance.

There's a mod kit out there, that just req. taking out the points & install the electronic set-up.

Seems it was around $60

But yah., MSD is good....haven't heard any neg. about any of them.

Check out Summitracing.com for some good research.

FWIW., I built my own for $30 .... /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" /> B)

I have had good luck with the pertronix HEI billet distributor. I think they have one now that also has multi-spark as well? It may not work with the stock hood though. pertronix website street version with vac advance.

Oil is collecting on the outside on the intake. I will remove the dist. and replace the o ring.

I will try to find the conversion kit and do the mod if there is not a big advantage of replacing the complete ignition.

Bully Bob. Any suggestions were to buy the mod kit? I will check Summit Racing as they do have a ton of stuff.

Thanks! :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />
