I was thinking about removing it. will it mess up anything on my computer? will it produce more power? will my mpg go up slightly? or am i wasting my time? there's been a lot of talk on here lately and i was curious if it would do anything on my 95

Honestly, I think it might toy with your computer, Im not sure. Do you plan to upgrade to dual exhaust?
yes eventually. I'm buying some parts at a time. I'm wanting JBG headers, no cats, and true duals w a deep muffler like magnaflow. I like the way the dodge rams sound with the magnaflow exhaust. so i wanted to get that brand muffler. I was going to start this weekend by taking off the cat and replacing some pipe and ordering my headers shortly. then I am taking it to the shop to have all the pipe bent ran and welded on.

its a 95 302 efi will it mess anything up? I searched the forum and didn't find results about the computer.

I had an 87' with a 302 and I took the cat out of it without any problems. The only thing that I can think of that might cause problems would be the EGR valve and the O2 sensor. If you remove the cat you will increase the power of your bronco. The easier the exhaust flows out of your bronco the more efficient your vehicle will run. Double check your local laws to ensure you will be legal running without a cat on your vehicle.

Good Luck,

Rob

Hey: I also have a 95 XLT w/ 5.0 302 I took the second cat off mine to put the duell exaust on in front of the rear tires ( single in duell out flowmaster 40 ) and acually gained a little more hp she runs strong now with pleanty of getup and go compared to the two cats and single exaust you shouls check with your state to find out if its leagal or not And before I forget the only issue I had was connecting the first cat to the muffle because its a 3" out and a little oval ( not round like your exaust pipes) I had a freind weld a 6" pipe so it would fit Hope this helps Good luck

i have a 97 f150 4.6l took off cats and exhaust heaters. ck engine light stays on and engine runs rich but other than that no other problems. on the older fords i.e. 78-96 they only had catalyic convertors and not heaters so it should be ok. but it is illegal to take them off and run a truck like that, if you get caught.

That all depends on were you live at, my 86 with a 351W just has full length ****** headers and Flows with no cats and its not illegal, the muffler shop didn ask if i wanted cats they just weld the mufflers on. One thing though dependin on where you live you *can* get a noise ticket with 40 series Flowmasters, ive only seen it happen twice when my friend took his 94 dodge ram to denver, but hes also heavy on the gas. Ive been with him in his 75 GMC jimmy that has 18" 3" in/out Cherrybomb glasspacks on it and he was fine and those are louder then 40 series flows, just depend on the cop i guess.
