I have a 1995 Bronco XLT with the 5.0l engine. The truck has 101,000 miles on it. The truck performs well for the condition it is in, she's gotten up to 100mph before with a little bit of struggle. My question is I don't like how the redline in neutral while revving the motor is a little over 5k, however while in gear and at full throttle, it shifts into the next gear at about 4400. Is there a way to get higher shift points without buying an expensive chip? Also the truck is an automatic. It has the E40D trans and I'm not happy with the gearing considering 2nd gear brings you all the way to 70mph. Does anyone have a good gear setup for better acceleration that works well, as well as a good place to purchase it? As well as not having good acceleration through the gears, it does not take off well. It almost feels like there is a restrictor on the throttle. When I smash the gas from 0 it takes a second for the truck to respond and start moving, and spinning or even chirping the tires is out of the question. Not like the truck is meant to go fast but it upset me that while racing a mazda 3 from a dig the only reason he had me by a length is because of my slooooow launch. :D /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" /> Anyway any advice is greatly appreciated, thank you.

The E4OD trans is computer controlled.

The computer is dependant upon a number of sensors to determine the proper shift points.

I would pull diagnostic codes to see if any of the sensors are out of range.

To pull codes with a '95 all you need is a 4 inch piece of wire and the ability to count to ten.

Here is a thread that has instructions on how to pull codes.

Good luck
