Well there has to be some sort of life span on them. I use blue tops for my trolling motor and been using them forever it seems. In my bronco I just bought a new yellow top

I have 1 red top, its 6 years old, and still running strong. I have a 3 year old Yellow top and a 1 year old Blue top. I live in an extremely cold climate and the optimas are second to none.

lot of it depends on how much you use your vehicles. i have two yellow tops and a red. red is in my 97 f-250 and yellow are in my broncos. just got the second yellow a year ago when i was putting the new motor in the 75. charged it to spec and didn't use it. was dead and trashed the cells in the battery. called optima they said that the battery has to be cycled on a regular basis and if it isn't it will **** them. they sent me a return ticket to send it in and they gave me a new one. after that i make sure to use all of them on a regular basis. even if it means swapping it into my daily driver.
