Driving to work the other day I noticed that I had a cloud of smoke behind me. I was only a few blocks away so I popped the hood when I got there and noticed my dip stick is sticking out and oil is shooting all over the driver side exhaust manifold. Also during the last month or so my NEW rear main seal is leaking again and also my new intake manifold is leaking in the front. I hooked up an oil pressure gauge to the engine and at idle I have 100 PSI. After driving it for about a half hour it will drop to 60 ish and then down to (what i think would be normal) 35-45ish. So I ran a compression check to see if maybe I had broken a ring or lost compression somewhere which would be pumping up my crankcase pressure, but my numbers were awesome 140- 150 dry and 170 to 180 with a couple squirts of oil. My pcv is free and rattles, I also have a new breather on the passenger side valve cover. When I did the intake and carb change I changed out the stock breather with the vent tube that goes to the air cleaner, for a open element type breather with no hose to an aftermarket open element air cleaner. I dont think this would cause my problem. Im pretty much out of things to check. The only other thing that I can think of is that the previous owner may have installed a high pressure oil pump. and seeing some of the other things ive found he had done to the truck it wouldnt suprise me. by the way the engine is a 90% stock ( holley truck avenger 670 and an edelbrock performer intake) I think this could be why I keep loosing seals in the engine..... any ideas??
