I've got a 92 ford bronco with a 351w, the problem I've got is that I have spark or fire from the coil, but there isn't any spark at plug wires. I've replaced the hall effect sensor in the distributor or the electrical part in the distributor, the control module, map sensor, a new cap and rotor but i still have no spark going to plug wires. Has any body ever had a problem like this, I could use any help offered.

Did you use dielectric grease? I have heard that there is such a thing as using too much of it.

SO if you hold the coil wire close to the block or other ground, you get a good sprk right?

Check to make sure that the wires are well seated into the coil, into the dist cap, and the plug wires on the cap. Sometimes the coil wire *may* push back off due to air getting trapped when you push it on (and the ultra tight connection with the grease.) It has been suggested that you use a bent awl/pick to hold the boot off of the cap as you push it on.

IF that is all good, and you still have no spark, then pull the cap and have someone crank the engine to see if the rotor is spinning.

IF that is good, then it would seem that it is bad wires.

Just what color is that spark from the distributor and how big of a gap can it jump?

the rotor is turning in the distributor, and the spark jumping from the coil wire is a strong blue spark

get new plug wires

or did you get the wires out of firing order on the cap?

Do you still have the old rotor and cap for comparison to make sure that you got the correct parts?

The current for the spark has to go

1. through the coil wire to the cap

2. through the center of the cap to the rotor

2. jump the gap from the rotor to the cap (for the distribution to the plug wires)

3. connect to the wires

4. through the wires to the plugs

5 jump the gap at the plugs

You know your coil wire is good...

Check the coil wire connection to the cap

If the rotor by chance is the wrong one, the gap may be too large for the spark to jump to the cap for distribution

Possible BAD WIRES

check your connections to the plugs

Lastly if your plugs are gapped too large, the spark won't be able to make the jump.
