Ok well I posted a bit in another forum, but I figured I would post here as well for a general introduction. I just bought a '88 Bronco XLT for $1400. Personally I think I got a great buy for such a nice truck. there is only minor things wrong with it. as you can see in the pics the tailgate and the front panel was replace but that is nothing that a little spray can't solve. the only rust on the rig is near each of the fender wells. only one spot is rusted through. tires are still roughly new, 10.5x31. I haven't deciphered the hieroglyphs on my door panel to post the codes, but I do know it is a c6 tranny with the 5.0 engine. the interior is extremely clean and I don't think her top has ever been off. in the glove box is the original build sheet for the truck from Ford. anyone know the "color" name for this?

the plan:

well not sure yet, a little restoration (very little is needed mostly paint). I plan on getting a lift. I am thinking 6-9" suspension then a 3"body. I have a buddy of mine who does custom stuff so he is making a custom front guard to protect this pretty little thing. I can't wait to get started, but I have to wait for the extra $$. so the build is going to be slow. I usually keep most things looking stock, but I do want this to be an off road toy.

Oh yeah...the name is Terrence (terry). I live outside Philadelphia, PA. So if anyone is local give a yell especially if you know of somewhere to have a little fun.

yeah i feel like I overpaid now :( /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />
haha don't. if you are going to make it your own and love it..then it shouldn't matter what you paid for it. I actually stumbled acorss this truck. one of my technicians goes to school where the guy who owned this trains the students on ford vehicles. He wanted to unload this for his son. i wanted to get him lower, but i couldn't argue with the price since there isn't really anyhting wrong with the truck. plus the tires alone on this truck are worth about 4-500 around here. these tires still have the nubs on them so i know they have yet to see 5k miles.

Great looking Bronco!!! I think the color is Ford Medium blue, like mine. And I think Seabronc has the same two tone white&blue as yours, or at least he did at one point. You can get the paint codes from that build sheet or any body shop.

My $0.02, if you plan to lift the Bronco 8-10" and run big tires, start looking for a Dana 60 front axle or a whole donor F250/F350 truck. You can fit 38's with a 6" susp + 3" body lift, but the stock Bronco axles, u-joints, ball joints and other parts will break or wear out alot sooner. Don't forget to check the local and state lift laws where you live, too. JSM84
