Left; Length 18.91 in.; 30 Spline;

Right; Length 33.91 in.; 30 Spline;

Since it's a D44 axles from F150 and 78/79 Bronco's use the same shafts. Just F250's have 8-lug rotors and leaf Sprung. Nothing else diffirent on thye 44's.

warn and few few others build replacement shafts.

Really? Someone told me that the F250 D44 was longer than the F150 D44. The measurements I got from Jeff's Bronco Graveyard are:

left 18 5/8"

right 34 3/4

and outers that are 10 21/32" long.....do you know what axle these measurements are for?? If you're measurements are correct, then that just made my life that much easier. Thanks...

It's from my Warn 79 Shafts. The F250 and F150/Bronco use the same D44 shafts. I ran 77 F250 shafts in my Bronco til i busted them and went to Warn shafts.

Unless you have the D44 HD? Then it's parts are mixed between the D44 and D60. But they are more comonly found with the leafsprung D44 instead of the HD D44.

Oh yeah, sorry...it is the D44 HD. And I measured the shafts myself and came up with a mix of info.

The right shaft was 34 3/4" but the outer (stub) was 9.72"

So, with that right shaft measurement, would the left shaft be 18 5/8 or 18.91"??? The reason I'm asking is that all the left side stuff was gone when I picked up the axle. I'm trying to get measurements for either Moser or Superior chromoly shafts. Thanks for the help.

Jak,

If you can hold til this weekend I'll be pulling my left shaft and will meassure it for you. It'll be getting replaced with a F250 HD axle. A guy here yester day that bought my 77 F250 threw in axles with the deal. He just switched his wifes 78 Bronco over with 78 F250 HD. he swapped the Dana 60 under the rear and just pulled the 5-lug rotor and axles off the 1/2 ton D44 and swapped the D44 HD pieces on with no mod's.

I run one aftermarket shaft right now which is a Warn, It holds u-joints far better then stock spicer and has been handling the 35" Bogger's with ease. I'll slap a Warn left front in soon as I quit cheap stock shafts.

Here's outer shaft/stub.

1971-1979 BRONCO (Length 9.72 in.; 19 Spline;)

1975-1979 F-150 PICKUP (Length 9.72 in.; 19 Spline;)

Jak, I didn't get to the axle over the weekend due to rain. If rain stays off i'll get your info in a day or two.
