Hi,

i bought a bronco 93 xlt about 1.5 months ago.

i'm originally from germany in the states since 3 months, so i needed to buy myself a car asap and since the bronco was affordable and a very lovely car,

i decided to buy one. of course, the truck is not new and i hear some strange different noises from time to time. i think something with the brakes and the steering wheel system is going on (dont ask me what, i have no clue). i especially have a lot of play in my steering wheel and sometimes my ABS light comes up.

alo, i think my shocks in the back are done.

im from los angeles and i have no idea where to go to to check out all these things. i love my truck and dont want to give it in anybodys hands who has no idea what he is doing. ford directly sucks for such old cars, they dont care.

so anybody some recommendations, where i can go to? :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" /> how are the prices in general, if i, lets just say change all brakes into new and some new shocks?

thanks in advance for some feedback...

Hey, welcome to America and the Broncozone...we're glad to have you. I have only VISITED LA...don't know much about it, apart from the fact that the ONLY grass (lawn) I saw were in Beverly Hills and Disneyland...so, I'd try to find some co-workers, friends, neighbors, etc. that have recently had repairs....ask them about where they went, and how they did. Then, check with your local Better Business Bureau (searchable online) to confirm the reputation of any said establishment. Of course, if you can give US some vehicle facts, and symptoms of problems, we can always TRY to help diagnose and fix.....usually a LOT cheaper. ABS light generally means either the ABS unit, or a sensor is bad. From what I know, and somebody correct me if I'm wrong, your brakes will still work just fine....albeit, they won't have the anti-lock feature until you have that repaired....which, you should have a professional do anyway if you don't have brake experience.

Thanks for the posts.

I agree 100% with the grass - here is almost no nature at all unfortunetaly...

i think the abs light is the smallest problem, but when i'm driving, i hear a noise from below. it sounds like a heavy part is loose and bangs against the body. i can also feel it lightely on my feets sometimes (when the feet is on the ground inside while i'm driving). i tried to find it out myself and tried to shake every part below but nothing loose. i really don't know what it is - maybe it comes indeed from the shocks. they are pretty old.

and i want to change my brakes in general, because they are really bad. a repair shop told me that i have 80% on the front and 50% in the back, but it really feels different.

how much is it if i bring it to ford and want to change all the brakes in front and bake - any ideas?
