I love to offroad and love too wrench aka(7 offroad rigs, built cut caged, tired, geared, motored).
The more you research the more you learn before you build and buy parts!!!!!
Alot of people build motors, Alot of people like too lift rigs, alot of people like big tires.
Here is what I have learned. So you bought your first EB, Bronco, whatever..
Look at the whole package of the rig and what you might do with it.
Then set up the motor too go with the transmission and the transfercase and the axle gears and tire size you want.
Aka (dont do this) 35 in tires with 3.50 gears and a nvp type 5 speed trans. It will never work anywhere even the freeway!
Aka (dont do this) 29 in tires with 4.56 gears and a np435 4 speed trans. You can only drive it on the trails and maybe around town really slow.
Look at your motors output and your trans gearing and your transfer case gearing and then your axle gearing and your tire size do the math and see if it will work for you.
http://www.grimmjeeper.com/gears.html try this for gears and tire and trans equations. If you do this math it will save you thousands....
