i have a lifter that i believe is tapping.... passenger side towards the back. is the only way to fix this by taking off the head and replacing the lifters? i will have many more questions on this topic so be prepared!

you can try an old school trick and while she is running add a touch of ATF fluid to the oil, it will quiet it down if its not too severe

if it is a lifter then no you dont have to take the head off..just valve cover, upper lower intake, and take the rocker and push rod out from whatever area you believe the lifter is bad and replace it

if i go and take the intakes off would it be best for me to just replace all the lifters? when i replace lifters do i replace pushrods also?

and the touch of atf fluid, how long would this last?

is the lifter really a bad thing? what would happen if i let it go and did not fix it?
