I just recently had my C-4 rebuilt and now have a leak between the adapter and the transmission. The transmission shop is reputable and has attempted to remedy the problem. The gasket between the adapter and trans, which is very thin, was installed dry with no sealant. This is the way Ford did these originally the shop owner said. His concern using sealant was that it can get into the govenor at the rear of the trans.
To his credit, his shop went back in and supposedly installed a new gasket using RTV. It appears the RTV sealant was used only on the bottom portion of the gasket.
I still have a leak at the bottom section, although not nearly as bad as before. The leak does not appear to be comming from above this area. The fluid finds its way out and eventually lightly coats the underside with some drips.
Has anyone had an experience like this and what solutions did you incorporate.
I did not have this leak before the rebuild.
Thanks
