Hi,

I'm new to the Bronco World. I just bought a 78 ford Bronco with the Solid front end. I am trying to find out how much lift, if any I need to put 35/12.50/15 on. Or, what the largest tire I can put on it Stock as is? I think I can fit at least 33's on but I don't really know.

yes you can fit 33's stock and to fit 35's a simple 3'' lift should be all you need. in fact you can even fit 35's in stock but you WILL have some rubbage. so if 35 is what you want a 3'' lift will get them in. however you will probably want to lower your gear ratio as well to keep your MPG and hp at its max potential. 4.10 gears should work but you can even go lower.

as Gunner stated, 33's stock and 35's with some rubbing. i run 35-14.50-15 TSL boggers on my stock bronco but they'd rub with offroad flex, with the help of a freindly sawzall trimmed a lil off the front bottom edges of the front fender fixed it right up. 2-4" of lift on these year bronco's can clear quite a bit and really can if ya ain't scared of a sawzall

Gunner And TX Quad Hunter,

Thank's for your help. It just made my day to get that info. I'll be putting 35s on soon, and prob going with a Superlift (well a lift by some company), and rebuilding the rear end like you suggested with 4.10.

Do you have any recomendations for what lift to use?

ive got 35's on mine with hardly any rubbing its stock except for the front which was leveled out so if gas mileage is a concern you may consider this

naw no preference on the lift kits. most of them are really good. just make sure to get one that lifts the front and back. some kits only come for the front. and anything more than 2'' of suspension lift i would get a steering stabilizer as well. but if you want cheap quick lift they sell body lifts to. doesnt effect your suspension or steering. i got a 3'' body lift on mine and i am getting a 4'' suspension with dual steering stablizers. for the 4'' suspension its costing me about $700 with the steering stablizers.

gunner are u putting that lift on yourself? how hard would it be? is it something that simply bolts on with minor mods. im fairly handy and with instructions im sure i could handle it but ive been hesitant because i dont have much experience underneath the truk. im also a cheapa** so id rather not pay for someone to do it does anybody have any recommendations?

it's not that hard to lift a bronco, just have some large cheater bars and half inch or larger socket set and a weekend. put a 8" suspension and 3" body lift on my 78' years ago. loved it every since

Could you post a picture and show what it looks like and how much a person would have to trim? Thanks.
