( i buried my bronco to day . in 3 ft deep gumbo. and i had to get pulled out by two s-10 blazers i waz so imbarrased.. and when i got out i found out that i broke a few body mounts.and now i really want to sell it . and im looking at a F-250 .are they any good???

Just think about it, it took TWO of them to pull you out. I got stuck not too long ago in some mud, pretty bad too. My friend couldn't even pull me out with his '71 250 HP Landcruiser. Had to bumper jack both ends and put boards under the tires. It was sitting out there for over a week before we got back to it and there were imprints of the gas tank and axles in the dirt underneath it.

The Bronco is a good vehicle, but in situations like that, at least I know in mine, the only contributing factor to getting stuck was the tires. The engine, 4 wheel drive, and everything else did it's job, but the tires just wouldn't get traction. I imagine it's probably the same situation with you considering what you got stuck in. If you're looking to not get stuck in the same situation again, put some focus on the tires.

Man I would just replace the body mounts, and go from there. The best vehical ive ever seen in the mud was a 76 Bronco with a Aluminum 460 SVO create engine, with some 36" TSL SX Swampers, locked front and rear. It was a half cab, and the engine was pumped up as well. That thing was just awsome, he had power to space and had enough wheel speed to spin the tires enough that it raise him up out of mud, so pretty much he made his rig light enough and enough power and had aggresive enough tires that it would pretty much just skitter over the top of the mud. Anyhow, least you go pulled out by 2 s-10 blazers instead of just one. Maybe its time for a winch? That way you can just rely on your self to get out of a stuck.

Anyhow I got my 96 stuck the other day I high centered the rear end, and the auto hubs didnt engage so I couldnt pull my self off, so the solution to that is now today im installing some warn manual hubs. Anyhow I got pulled off the hang up by a stock 4wd Ranger, so it wasnt that bad.

Well good luck but I would keep the Bronco, and just fix it.

What year 250 were you thinking of. They're awesome rigs if you don't mind the long wheel base. If you really like your bronco, i'd spend the time to fix up those body mounts. My buddy drives a 96 dodge r/c s/b and we were out camping when we were driving through what we thought was a trail but turned out to be a semi frozen marsh. He drove out 50 ft before he started to sink. First in the morning it was only up to the bottom of the doors. But as the day warmed up it sunk up to the hood. I tried pulling it out with my bronco but ended up gettin it stuck too. Lucky for us we were able to find a farmer near by and he pulled us out with his tractor. Long story short, if a dodge gets stuck leave it there, you're just doing yourself and everyone else a favor. /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

Hey dont feel bad I got my bronco stuck in a high line. When it finally stoped moving their was water over my seats. A 2005 Dodge Hemi with 35"s could not budge me. The strap broke and broke out his back window. Then one of my friends hooked up to me in his 2001 Ford with 38" Tsl's a 6 inch lift And 411 gears with lockers. After about 7 hard tugs I started crawling out but he broke a bunch of teeth in his front gears and had to replace the whole set! :-"

I got my Bronco stuck this past weekend. Went to a 4x4 event with the Misfits 4x4 club in SouthEastern Michigan. It didn't look that bad until we really got into it and then the Bronco was just too heavy. It took 2 hours with one Jeep with a winch on me and two Jeeps with tow straps to him so that his winch didn't just pull him toward me. Here are the pictures I took. Sorry there are so many non Bronco pics, but these guys had some pretty built up rigs with 460 V8s and 38" and larger tires. We had 5 trucks stuck at one time trying to winch off each other. )

its a 1985 f-250 stock with manual hubs 4spd trannie and a carberated 351 W blue on blue with 33. bran new centerforce cluch still debatig

I'v been in the same situation. i was bottomed out on my t-case skid plate and all four tires were off the gound. my buddy had a stock s-10 blazer with ats and another on 33in mtrs and it still took a solid fifteen minutes of tugging before they could get me out. you just gotta look on the bright side and remember it took two to get you out not just one

I think we've all been there. Make sure you drain the axles because they will have water in them. If you drive on it, the gear fluid turns into a thick clay and will wear out everything. Better at least pull the front diff cover and see.

We all have gotten stuck. I would just fix your rig, and buy a Warn 12000 winch (bronco's are heavy mothers). If I were you, I would look into dual mounting points for your winch. Front is almost required, but consider a rear mount as well, so if you get stuck and the only way out is backwards, you are prepared. Also, you might want to consider losing some of the unnecessary weight in your bronco. They are already anchors, and adding a lift, bigger tires, and other mods only adds more weight. Consider only the necessities, and leave the rest at home.

The dodge should have stayed at home with the kids, since it obviously cannot keep up in the mud. With concerns to the F-250, i would not buy that rig. If you are planning on wheeling it, it weighs about the same as your Bronco, but does not get any traction at the rear wheels. Therefore, if you spin your rear tires, you are just burying yourself even more, and then the only way to get you out is a tractor.

I would buy a heavy duty winch, and fix your rig, and then wheel it like you stole it!

well i got the f -250 . after i found out that my bronco and a cracked frame .i took it to this welder guy...lol and he welded it. and it broke agan so i sold it to my best friend and he sais he would fix it. tahnx 4 the suport ....lol

To repair the frame, wel a doubler (piece of steel) on both sides, maybe two feet long on bothe sides of fame.

We shorted an F-650 this way.

Possible to stick any vehicle, includiing track layers.

Nice looking bronco. You gotta admit, though, it looks pretty out of place with those seriously customized jeeps. Esp the stock bumpers w/o any winch or mount points
