gas pick up from main tank

has anyone had this problem, once the fuel line is connected to the rear main tank, fuel won't flow consistently to the pump/carb. Blow into the tank and air flows...

What do you think is wrong?...

Haven't pulled out the float/pickup unit yet.

Also using plastic fuel line.

Any ideas

This is pretty vague...

Where exactly are you making this disconnect/connect..?

You should do it fr. the inlet hose leading up to the fuel pump.

Should be able to blow air easily (by mouth) all the way back, & bubble in tank.

Also.., if you can blow air back thru the fuel pump, (fr. the outlet side) the pump is weak.

HOWEVER.., the screen could still be in place on the fuel pick-up (inside tank)...& mostly plugged.., creating a restriction but still allowing air-flow.
