Anyone done it looks like small grinding and small manufaturing of holder, I got one for free, cheap bronco. looking for more cheap options...

Ah thus the damage on my passenger side panel from the previous owner, a spare 38 is hard too hold has been staped too the tail gate agansit the bumber or straped too the bed with the rear seat out by me, lets see what else I can do thanks for the infoIt can be done, but if you put anything bigger than a stock tire on it, you are going to start causing body damage & it will twist the tire carrier. See, the problem, even with the original tire carriers, is that they mounted to the corner pillar & that is a complete seperate body panel from the fender. Although they are welded to each other, what happens is that it starts to twist the body panel away from the support post on the inside of the bed & away from the original position. So, if you are looking for something to hold a 31", 33" or bigger tire, make your own tire carrier & hang it off of the frame.
