I only have the aux. fuel tank hooked up on my 69 right now, due to the absense of my main tank fuel filler neck. The Problem I'm having is that when I fill up the tank, the gas pump nozzle doesn't "click " to stop fuel flow. So consequently my tank spits out about 2 gal. of gas or so out of the breather located on top of the tank. Any ideas on what would cause this?

Sounds like a defective nozzle, or the overflow is letting the tank fill so slowly at that point the nozzle doesn't sense it soon enough.

I concur, that much fuel spilling out sounds like the nozzle. My overflows a little, but shut off before much spills out.

Thanks for the replies, but it ended up being a breather issue. I had to relocate the breather to a higher position.
