I just bought my first Bronco a few months ago and have been working on getting the fuel guage working. I intend to put a new tank and sending unit in. I checked the electric current to the sending unit with a 12 volt test light and the current pulsates on the test light. Is this normal or should the current be steady and how do i go about fixing it?? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

This is normal (the pulse)....

What I like to do is momentarily short the two wires on the sending unit 'til the gage reaches full. (have a helper watch gage)

This will tell you if the mini dash volt. regulator & gage are good...

If it doesn't move to full, the gage could be bad.

If temp & oil are reading correctly, the mini volt. reg. is good. >
