Does anyone know if there is a supplier of hard line fuel lines out there? If not what is the best way (material) to go about replacing my fuel lines on my 74?

Wellll.,

The factory line is pretty tough. /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

R/U sure you need to change it..? It has about a 100+ yr. life span..!! /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

What I do (assuming it's been left open & debris has entered) is disconnect both ends & spray carb. cleaner in one end...then follow with the air hose..!! When it blows clean., good as new.!

Don't know what it's made of (plastic of sorts) but if not damaged., it can't be beat.

If you feel the need.., most any auto parts can get metal for you., if it's not on their shelf. ;) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

Don't order a hard line system yet.

I made a whole new brake line system. I went to Advanced and they have multiple sizes and lengths of brake lines made up. ****, they know me so well at the store they just let me go to the back and search through the lines they probably would let you too. Measure out the lengths you need and if they don't have the length you need, just buy the next longer one - cut it to your length with a small metal tubing cutter and flair out the end. Now you have just what you need. if you need a length longer than what they have they sell connectors to put two of their lines together. The brake lines bend easy to curve it how you need. I made my curves by hand because I couldn't get the cheap a** bender I bought to work right. Not trying to drop names but, Advanced has the best price (couple bucks). I think napa was 10 bucks or more for some of the ready made lines.

If your not sure go buy a small length of the tubing and try it out. I was able to replace my entire hard line system for a few bucks and some weekend time in the garage.

word of advice. I learned the hard way. If you do this make sure the threaded bolts that come on the ready made brake line are still on the line facing in the right direction before you flair the cut end of the line. There is nothing like making a nice flair only to find you cant hook it up. I'm notorious for having to do things twice.

Make sure your flair is nice and even otherwise it may leak. Let me know if it helps.

Summit Racing has a good selection of line sizes and fittings too. Just depends on what you want.
