Hey guys, I need some help. I have a 1974 Bronco 302 with Eddlebrock Fuel injection. Upon starting up it runs great and will do so for about 15 minutes and then it starts running very rough and occasionally backfiring. If I keep it running it will finally quit. If i let it sit for an hour or so it will start back up and the whole process will start again. I am trying to understand what the main issue is. Can anyone give me some clues?

However that's one of the best look'n EB's I've seen in a long time...!!!

Clean & blacked out.... "NICE" ...good job.! :D/

dont exactly know the specifics on the edelbrock system, but in my experiance as mechanic, it sounds like a fuel problem, usually ignition works or doesnt and he said it starts running rough and then eventually dies,is there a way to test fuel pressure, dont know the specs but on normal cars with fuel injection usually run 35-45 psi, your fuel filter could also be restricted, basically you need to get a fuel pressure guage and check the fuel presure, and watch if you start loosing fuel pressure, my bet is its going to.

If you do have a Duraspark II system, one of the common problems is the pick up coil. When it starts to go bad, it will work when the engine is cold and after it warms up and runs for a while it shorts out internally. When that happens, it is like someone reached over your shoulder and turned the key off. Then after it cools off it will work again for a while.

Good luck,

:)>-
