engine question

was wondering what people thought in regards to motors. question is should us my numbers matching motor or just get a crate or donor block. all opinions and help are welcome

you can spend the same amount on rebuilding your engine as you would on a crate, but if you look in the right spots for your parts, you can get more bang for your buck building it. Crates are great for plug and play.

If you decide to rebuild a used engine, carefully inspect and measure the block to insure a good rebuild. If I had the money I would have chosen to go "crate" but I chose to rebuild a later 80s 5.0 **. These are plentiful at wrecking yards and has a better compression ratio then my 74 block and roller cam equipped. Good luck in whichever way you go.

Ford doesnt "numbers match" Like Chevy does. All it says is the engine size... If your code says 302, and you have a 302 in it. Its numbers matching.
