So my fuel gauge doesn't work in my '84 Bronco II, but I was told by the previous owner to top it off around 240 miles on the odometer. Ran out of gas today on the way to class on a decently steep hill at only 222 miles. When I topped it off at the gas station, it only took 12.7 gallons! I thought the minimum size these things came with was 19 gallons. If that's true, does the fuel tank have a real crappy design that allows the fuel pickup to be uncovered with 5 gallons left in the tank? Did the baffles inside break? Worst part was the gas station made my buy the stupid gas can. At least my hands smelled like gas the whole day in class :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

for bronco2 the stock size fuel tank is 23gallons

if your reading 12.5 you have a bad fuel sending unit

your floater is not working right or is stuck at that position.

You may want to check the fuel filter since you were going up hill when it died it makes me wonder if the filter isn't partialy plugged and is restricting the fuel flow. happened to me, would die on hills or heavy acceleration (just a thought)
