I have the stock points distributor giving spark to my 302, and was curious the size after gear for a replacement or possible upgrade. The one I am looking at is one inch past the gear and was curious if it will change right out after stock one is removed. I guess one and a half inch will be too big?

For easy starting and more relyability spend the bucks for a points too electronic conversion, am asumming thats what your guestion was! Last I check its about a 100 bucks, but no more dwell settings and will fire up and run well asumming all else is good...

Thanks for response. I was going to change to electronic ignition, but I had someone who had a nice distributor (new) which would fit 302 but he said I needed to make sure that the bronco distributor I am replacing has only 1 inch of space past the gear that hits cam. I did not want to pull mine first to see but rather was hoping that someone new the size so I can switch and make sure it will fit no problem. Thanks
