This seems kind of odd to me. My Dad went down to look at an '85 Bronco for me at a dealership. It's the 300 with 84000 (or 184000) miles on it. For the most part, the vehicle looks like it's very well taken care of. Everything in it and on it is clean. The engine bay looks clean except that the valve cover looks oxidized. My dad said that while it was running it ran rather well, smooth, and didn't blow any odd colors of smoke. However, since it was raining out he turned the wipers on. As soon as he did, the vehicle died and they weren't able to get it started again (wipers on or off). The sales guy said that it probably ran out of gas and that the gauge has been acting funny. The first pictures I saw of it showed a 3/4 tank of gas and the ones my dad took showed it near empty.
It dying the moment he turned the wipers on very well have been a coincidence since coincidences do happen. They said they'd look at it and make sure it was filled with gas if he wants to go look at it again. Hopefully, everything will be fine. My question is, if it wasn't the vehicle didn't run out of gas right then would it be possible for anything hooked up in the wiper's system to cause it to quit running?
Thanks.
Or should this be moved to the tech section?
