custom body paint

i am gonna buy a 2005 ford f-150 truck body and want to know if i can custom paint it. i was plannin on writin MinnesotA MonsteR on paper in a cool design. i was thinkin of then puttin it on a cuttin board and slicing it out and then tape it to the body and then spray paint it. will that work? i'll make my avatar my f-150 big foot monster truck as soon as i get a pic of it.

i think it would work. mine has a custom bodypaint that says miata masher.
