Have a 69 Bronco with a 302, and just installed the Vintage Air A/C setup. The motor is running hot and I want to increase the air flow, or cooling capacity, but have limitations because of clearance problems with the fan blades hitting the A/C compressor. Has anyone ran this setup, and what was their solution??

The older 302's have been notorious for overheating problems, so I'm sure you'll get several responses to your question.

Here are some options I've heard/seen/read:

1. Sealing the gap between the top of your current radiator and the hood. Some guy over at www.classicbroncos.com had a pretty nifty solution. You may want to go over there and do a search on it... sorry... I don't know the link off hand.

2. Upgrading your radiator. I'm assuming you have a 3-core in there now. You may consider running a 4-core or aluminum.

3. Fan shroud. Do you have one? If not, I would definitely get one.

4. Vented fenders. Supposedly they help increase airflow through the engine compartment.... sounds good in theory, but I have never tested this nor do I know anyone personally that has done this.

I'm sure there are many more options, but that's all I can think of. Good luck to you!
