I have a 91 Bronco EB edition, the tailgate at the lower part is completly rusted.

Also the rear quarter panels above the rear fender wells, and the lower part near the door jams is rusted through.

Im asking if its fairly easy to replace tailgate and rear quarters or take it to a body shop and have it done or if i can do it myself.

Also im wanting to put 33"s or bigger on it and wondering best way to lift it, i dont wanna lift it a whole lot cause i dont wanna have to mess with extendeding brake lines and such, just want enough to support larger tires then my 31x10.50s

The tailgate ca nbe replaced with a new shell, and you use the parts from the old one, or you can look for a good used one from a salvage yard. Either way, easy to do but the part is heavy with glass and all hardware.

The rear quarter panel and rocker panels (under the doors) require that you drill out the old spot welds, cut out the old part and weld in the new one. That's the proper way to replace those items. You can get a patch panel for the fender area but it still needs welding or some way to attach it. A body shop can handle all of this but will charge about $1000 to replace the rear 1/4's alone.

There is a link to this process in the Tech Articles under "MiesK5Homepage", just go to the body section to view links to other sites with pics and how-to.

what do you mean by rear section ?, cause I just did mine but it was a swap so it had all hardware already in it mite have been alot harder if I had to install the door latching mech, as for swapping it was pretty easy even the glass and regulator but it is easyer with 2 people good luck
