Auxillary gas tanks

I have a 69 bronco with a fiberglass body, I am looking for pictures or diagrams to show how to mount my auxillary gas tank. I have the front bracket and the two straps, do I need anything else? Any help will be greatly appreciated Thanks...

hey a book that will help you out a lot will be LMC truck magazine. it will have the parts that you are after for a reasonable price and also kinda give you a diagram on how it shoould go together the web site is LMCtruck.com and you can order a mag for free... or nationalpartsdepot.com they both have helped me find parts that i have needed that the other places on line didnt sell

You need a skid plate if your tank is plastic like mine.

Thanks... I forgot , I do also have the skid plate. I am trying to figure how the brackets, that the straps attatched too, are attatched. Are they attatched to the frame or to the braces on the body. My fiberglass body does not have the braces found on the metal bodies.

Heres something funny...

Since we are are on the subject of gas tanks. I installed a new plastic tank w/ sending unit. I put 5 gal. in it, the guage reads 3/4 full ????(this is the main tank) ran to the store and and ran out of gas. with the guage still reading about 1/2 full. ***!!

What may I have done wrong? Did I put the sending unit in sideways??? :blink:

I did this.... forgot to switch the gas valve....

Also, switch the tank reading switch to the proper tank.
