what do I have to take apart to change the main gasket on the pumpkin(on the 9" rear)

yes pull the axles and then just pull the pumkin out. axles should just have the 4 bolt retaining plate.

You don't need seals, just go get some form-a-gasket. Yank the axles, you don't have to pull apart the brakes, just undo the 4 axle ****** bolts behind the drum and oull it out. Might be a good time to replace the wheel bearings.
