My 79 Bronco died approaching a toll and wouldn't start again without full throttle. I have checked all vaccum lines, drilled the catalytic converter, and cleaned the carb (no rebuild though). I was able to get it to idle only when I turned up the throttle on the carb but died when I put it in gear. I have tried to find other vaccum leaks by plugging the ends of lines to see if that is the problem. The engine serges and runs rough when it runs. The higher the RPM the smoother it runs though. Any ideas?
